Netball and Early Physical Development
Research conducted by SAQ (Speed Agility & Quickness International Ltd) has shown that teaching fundamental movements at an early age is critical.
Children with a good movement foundation develop greater self confidence and will naturally want to participate in physical activity. Participation in physical activity develops a range of key life skills. It also improves behaviour and attitude, helping young people make better lifestyle decisions.
The importance of participating in a team sport
Team sports have a large social aspect which provides children with the opportunity to make friends with children from various backgrounds. This helps to give them a feeling of self-worth and teaches them to work together towards a common goal, learning to win and lose together in a dignified manner.
Participating in a team teaches children to support each other during challenging and stressful time, helping them to learn how to deal with various emotions as well as giving recognition to others when due.
There is a strong focus on the importance of making friends, handling conflict, bullying and being there for each other no matter the circumstances.
